Snakes on a plane.

Dame. I commend you and your initiation to revive the blog. Well done.

Martha did request that we get going again. that was months ago. I forgot to tell you.

I'm sitting in a coffee shop- looking out floor-to-ceiling windows onto the corner of 8th and P in the haymarket. You know, there are some very strange people down here. I love it.

Today is overcast- humid, heavy clouds threatening rain, to no avail. I don't mind this weather at all. It's a kind of mysterious that I just happen to love.

I "accidentally" dropped a blueberry muffin on the counter today. I, of course, couldn't sell it to the little girl who wanted it, so I had to get her a different one. The dropped muffin is sitting in the fridge waiting for me. It really was an accident, but I probably could have disguised it and she never would have known. However, in the back of my head, I remembered the 2 Fiber One bars that I brought for dinner....and a blueberry muffin somehow sounded a lot better.

You know, I'm in the haymarket a lot during the days. Sometimes in the nights. You're more than welcome to come down here and read and sit with me. It's much slower than the other location. Here, I actually have a chance to slow down and breathe.....something of which I am very fond.

I sent a text to my brother telling him that I am here and that if he needed a little pick-me-up after work, I'd have a mug-o-joe waiting for him. We'll see what he decides. I won't count on it.

I'm going to publish this now so you know I'm here. I might write again soon. I just might.

P.S. I think we need a new picture here.

So there I was...

sitting in a computer room reading days worth of other people's blogs. Not people I know, mind you. Just people who other people know and have links to. While reading them, all I can feel is a sense that I am lacking something. And then it hits me. Oh, I'm missing my own shared blog with my friend, Heather. Then it hits me again. I'm already at blogspot--I simply need to sign in and start writing.

You'd think all of this might have occured to me a bit sooner. Nope.

So I'm glad we got to talk last night. I'm glad your almost-marital bliss has not worn off and probably won't for a while. I'm glad you're glad.

Mostly I think that I'm really hot right now and I need to open a window. Unfortunately, I'm afraid. I'm not afraid of severe weather normally, but today, with the chillin's around--a blown off window just might be the end of it. They would lose it. So windows will stay closed. Sweat glands will be called to action. And I will wither away like a piece of old lettuce.

Thankyou,

Davenport Dame

Luck Dame- Duck Lame Lame Duck

Hey, girl. I do check this. In fact, I saw right away that you had written- and then I forgot to write back. I broke my car today. Rammed my tire into the curb and blew it out, stupid of me. I have a gift for you from Meg- STILL. We need to meet up so you can have it. It's even wrapped..

I miss you. How about we at LEAST start writing here again- at least that, if we don't see each other in person. What do you say?

Lame as a duck. A lame duck, more like.

Hey girl. I wonder if you even check this darn thing anymore it's been so long!

It is Sunday here and I'm taking a break from planning to check facebook, blogs, e-mail, etc. I love reading yours and Meg's blogs. Ahhh, you are both so special to me. Soon student teaching will be done and I will come back to Lincoln-land and we can spend some happy times hanging out. You still need to meet my sweetie-pie. I think you'll really like him.

I have been planning and reading (for school) most of the day. It takes so long to get even the littlest things done. I did take a break to watch Murder on The Orient Express. I've always been into Agatha Christie, and since we just finished a book of hers in my Brit Lit class, I thought I had license to sit down with a bowl of popcorn and ENJOY! That I did. I made omelettes for the grandparents for supper. Turned out pretty good, I would say.

What's up with you? Are you subbing lots? Where have you applied for jobs? I need to get going on that. Yikes. It's coming fast.

Well, best get back to The Mousetrap, Jane Eyre, and The Great Gatsby. They're so impatient!

Love you,

Davenport Dame.

His voice puts me under; carries me to dreams

Dame,
I tried calling you the other night because I was in your neck of the woods. Really. I went over to Logan's to meet Amber and him for the evening. Where were you? I looked and thought that, perhaps you had already left. This made me sad.

So, I'm home. I'm back. I live here now. I am so happy. I think I'm going to work at Scoot's to earn my keep. Starting soon- and while I sub. What do you think?

Call me please so we can get together. I do miss you too much.

Much love,
HL

Bazhzhsaahaaaaaaaaahhhh!

What I'm doing is trying to pack. It is not going well. Basically I stop every 10 minutes to write and e-mail or something. I haven't really completed any tasks--and it seems like every box I begin to fill holds ALMOST everything I need to put in it, but not quite everything. You know what that means! One large box with a bunch of crap in it--all mixed up. Not good.

Tomorrow you will be back here! I can't believe it! I'm excited to see you--whenever that time will come. In the meantime I'll continue working and packing (or not packing).

By The Way....

Dame. I'm completely disappointed in the both of us. Who are we to think that skipping out on Novemeber all together, with the exception of one post- by YOU, is acceptable? It most certainly is NOT! I'm far more to blame than you, my dear, as I did not post even once during that month. Shame on me. And shame on you for not getting on my case.

Here we go. Let's try to TRIPPLE last month's posts by the end of December. We can!
